Kiwame – the artist’s name, originates in an abstract art movement embraced by young painters and to which his father, KUBO Akira, belonged. It means “see one’s undertakings or work through to the end” – a quality displayed by the artist in his own work. 

 

KIWAMEX: it is about carving the ideal geometrical shape out of a single block through extraordinary technical skills; one which already potentially exists in the original material.
